About this web page
I have used the following techniques in developing this site:
- DHTML(cascading style sheets, layers) to format the pages.
- Javascript to gain better control over the layout of the site.
- DIVs to control the positioning of items on the page.
- Visual Interdev proved to be a very good tool in the design of this site.
- Adobe Photoshop to create images.
Project 1 - HR Department Timeline Application
- Developed an email enabled application for the
human resources department of GEAE that automatically triggers the event of
sending remainder emails and checklists to various individuals responsible
for recruitment of new employees at prespecified time intervals using MS
Access, ADO and MS exchange.
- This facilitated the successful transition of
employees to their new jobs and was an important tool for the HR department
in achieving their Six Sigma goals.
- There was a special mention of this project in the Aircraft Engines News letter
for November/December 1997.
Project 2 - Purchase Order Processing Application
- Developed a complex Access application that takes
purchase order data from disparate sources like mainframe applications, in
various formats and parses the data.
- Converts parsed data into appropriate form for
automatic upload into the database.
- Outputs reports on purchase orders to be fed into the manufacturing software
system to schedule production.
Project 3 - Legal Agreements Tracking Application
- Developed a database application for the legal department of GEAE that tracks
agreements with GEAE representatives around the world.
- Application used from initial contact with the candidatethrough the completion
of appointment of the representative.
- Also enables renewal and termination of representative agreements.
- Word merge features in Access were used to create new agreements with representatives.
- Agreements automatically saved in the directory, to be
viewed and printed as required.
- Reminders generated automatically when any agreement was due
to expire to facilitate timely action.
