Applied Boundary-Value Problems   (15-MATH-377-001)

                                              Spring Quarter 2007

 

The class room and class times are Room 305 of Zimmer Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and

Fridays at 10:00-10:50 a.m. from Monday, March 26th through Friday, June 1st, 2007

(with a final examination in that room on Wednesday, June 6th at 9:45-11:45 a.m.).

Textbook: Fourier Series and Boundary-Value Problems,  

                  by James Ward Brown and Ruel V. Churchill, 7nd Ed.,

                  McGraw-Hill, Boston (about 2007)

 

Grades will be based on two 50-minute midterm examinations (Test 1, Test 2), and a two-hour final examination.

     Test 1 will be given on Friday, April 20th and will be weighted as 25% of the final grade. 

     Test 2 will be given on Friday, May 18th and will be weighted as 25% of the final grade. 

     The final examination is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6th, at 9:45-11:45 a.m. and will be

     weighted as 50% of the final grade.

Please use examination booklets (so-called “bluebooks”) for each of the examinations. 

 

Subject matter:  All of Chapter 1 and selections from Chapters 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.   

                            At the close of each class, a reading and exercise assignment will be made. 

 

 

Pocket calculators, cell phones, and other such aids are prohibited during the examinations.
