Informal Biography
Welcome to my website. I hope that you enjoy your stay.
I was a military brat. I lived all over growing up - Illinois, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Okinawa, Japan, and Ohio. My family and I moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1980 and I've been a Buckeye ever since. I moved to West Chester in 1991 and to Union Township, Clermont County in 1994.
Frankly, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I spent 2 years with a market research company, 6 years with a power company, 2 years managing a medical office, and 2 years managing my own consulting firm. I was never truly happy with my "work life" until I discovered teaching in 1993. I started my teaching career part-time at Clark State Community College in Springfield, Ohio.
I really hate it when students are not prepared for class, are excessively absent or tardy, carry on conversations during a lecture, and when people practice management without a "license".
I really love it when students ask me questions, when they try really hard, when they bring me food, and when they lie about what a good teacher I am.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business degree in Marketing from Wright State University. I earned an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton. I earned my Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Sarasota. I am currently pursuing "post-doc" studies at UC-Clermont - Elementary Intensive German I. My current research interests include: role ambiguity/role clarity, work redesign, self-directed work teams, organization and country culture, organizational design and behavior, participative decision making, and job satisfaction.
