Biography
Dr. Jeffrey C. Bauer is an Associate Professor of Management and Marketing at the University of Cincinnati-Clermont. Prior to joining UC-Clermont, Dr. Bauer was a founding partner and President of Bauer & Taylor Management Consulting and the Practice Administrator for Anderson Hills Pediatrics, Inc. In addition, he was a department head in a Fortune 500 company and a Fortune 1000 utility. In his capacity as a consultant, he worked with a variety of organizations, formulating objectives and policies while developing congruent organizational designs. He worked routinely in contract negotiation, finance, marketing, human resources, information systems, purchasing and accounting. Dr. Bauer employed computer and statistical modeling to evaluate business and/or investment opportunities, employing probabilistic scenarios, pro-forma financial statements, and numeric indicators such as internal rate of return. He also designed, wrote, and analyzed statistical surveys of customer attitudes, opinions, expectations, and service satisfaction. In addition, he developed new control and reporting procedures and conducted strategic planning analyses.
Dr. Bauer received a D.B.A. from the University of Sarasota, an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton and a B.S.B. from Wright State University. Dr. Bauer's current research interests include: role ambiguity/role clarity, work redesign, self-directed work teams, organizational design and behavior, organization and country culture, participative decision making, and job satisfaction.
Dr. Bauer has been a faculty member at UC-Clermont since 1995. He teaches courses in management, marketing, economics and general business. Prior to coming to UC-Clermont, he was a member of the faculty at Clark State Community College. He is a member of the International Academy of Management and the Midwest Academy of Management.
