Week 1, 2 Reading

• Take a look at the class, use case, and sequence diagrams at http://www.smartdraw.com/resources/centers/uml/uml.htm.
• (Updated 4/6/2003) Take a look at the Use Case portion of the Argo users guide: http://argouml.tigris.org/documentation/defaulthtml/manual/ch03s02.html
• For patterns, use this site http://www.patterndepot.com/put/8/JavaPatterns.htm and read:

• Creational Patterns intro
• Factory Pattern
• Singleton Pattern
• Behavioral Patterns intro
• Command Pattern
• Structural Patterns intro
• Proxy Pattern
• For exceptions, look at Ch 11 in Core Java 2, Volume 1 (Java I book, if you have it).  We may cover the remainder of the chapter, debugging techniques, if we have time, but that is a maybe.  Also, this material might take us into week 3 a little bit.  So for now, just up to 659 will be fine.
