Dylan Ward
Physical Processes at Earth's Surface

 Overview

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Cincinnati.

Research Interests

The interaction of weather and gravity with the diversity of materials found at the Earth's surface results in a spectacular array of landscapes. As a geomorphologist, I am interested in the evolution of landforms as the result of physics and chemistry operating at the surface of the Earth. I use a variety of tools such as cosmogenic dating and thermochronometry to understand the pace of landscape development. I also use mathematics and numerical computer models to understand how distinctive landforms emerge from the interactions between physical processes.
