Dr. Xia Wang is a professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.  Dr. Wang earned her doctoral degrees in statistics (2009) and economics (2007) from the University of Connecticut, where she developed expertise in Bayesian methodology and computation.  Dr. Wang received her postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) 2009-2011.  She worked on NISS’s NCI-funded project Proteomic Technologies: Metrology, Research Methods Design, and Analysis.

 

Dr. Wang’s research interests include Bayesian modeling of categorical data and scalable modeling of complex, high-dimensional data.  Her research has been applied in the fields of biomedical studies, social sciences, proteomics, bioinformatics, ecological and environmental sciences, and climate change assessments.
