Course Objective:
Retype the course objective on top of the form while thinking of relationships between objectives, learning and artifacts:

Artifact:

Artifact is a Catalyst Portfolio tool that provides you  with the opportunity to collect a wide range of digital objects—text documents, photos, images, audio files, video files, or Web pages. You need to think broadly and creatively about the kinds of evidence that might best illustrate what skills, thinking, accomplishments, or interests that relates to the class. Draw connections across different disciplines and/or realms of your life—academic, personal, experiential. You may wish to find themes that run through these different arenas, or to consider how each arena contributes to what you wants to demonstrate through the portfolio. For example, portfolios can be especially effective for documenting learning in the field.

 Ground Rules

I learned the backgrounds of our group members, and had to introduce a member in our group, hence, enhancing my communication skills.  I also learned better how to work in groups while assigning various roles for every group member: moderator, time keeper, and leader. We will be rotating these roles in future assignments.  We authored a contract with ground rules to avoid future misunderstanding. We will be able to apply the skills we are acquiring to lead effective project meetings.

Case 1

Comparison of Project Delivery Systems

I learned how the design and delivery of construction project affect construction productivity. I used information on project delivery systems we learned from CM1. I also learned about project scope definition and some ethical issues in design. This was our first assignment as a team, it gave us the opportunity to learn more about our team.  We will be able to apply this information in the future as Project Coordinators and Managers to select best project delivery for our projects..

Presentation

The field study project was intense. We had to select and communicate with many professionals and tradesmen. We overcame several hurdles in selecting and scheduling construction operation to analyze. In this assignment, we learned how to do background research, collect data and analyze it. We also experienced how to apply concepts that we learned in the class for productivity improvement.

Finally, We learned how to appreciate the hard work in construction and the importance of safely measures in construction operations.

As a result of this project, our interpersonal skills and teamwork have improved. We co- authored a report and presented it in front of experienced jurors from the  construction industry.
