The main components of the laboratory are: (a) 4.5'-thick slab-on-grade strong floor with ties located at 4' on center away from the reaction walls, and on a 3'x4' grid in front of the reaction walls (b) 23' and 31' tall L-shaped reaction walls, 4-ft and 4.5-ft thick, respectively. Vertical sleeves on the walls, spaced at 2' on center, allow attachment of hydraulic actuators for biaxial lateral loading of components or complete subassemblies. The floor has been designed for 200 kips of uplift at each load point, and the walls can each resist 200 kips at 22' and 30' from the floor. Three 14'x14' doors allow easy delivery and unloading of long linear members to the laboratory.
