Prof. Altan M. Ferendeci, PhD

Dr. Ferendeci received his B.S.E.E. from Robert College School of Engineering, Istanbul, Turkey. He received his MS and PhD degrees from Case Institute of Technology, Cleveland, Ohio. Between 1966-77 he was at Cekmece Nuclear Research Center as Head of Plasma Physics Section and later as Acting Head of the Physics Division. He remained there until 1977, when he joined the Physics Department of Bogazici University. At the end of the same year, he became a Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University. In 1988, he joined the ECECS Department of the University of Cincinnati.

His expertise in electromagnetic theory, microwaves, solid state electronics and numerical computations allows him to extend the applications of microelectronics into the microwave, millimeter wave and optical regions.

Dr. Ferendeci has authored and edited three books, served as a reviewer for several publishing companies and government agencies. He is also the Consulting Editor of the Physical Electronics Section of the McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology.

Dr. Ferendeci is a life member of IEEE, Society of Sigma Xi and Eta Kappa Nu.
