Most Americans have never gotten anything more then speeding tickets and even more are unsure about the exact nature of the court systems. It does not help that every state has its own laws and ways of running court. In the State of Ohio all felony courts are run by the county they reside in. In Ohio every county has a muncipal court that will handle misdemeanors but it is not uncommon for local jurisditions to have their own muncipal courts.

For victims of crime unused to the court process this can be very confusing. The purpose of this website is to provide them with some infomration about how court works and with some links that may be helpful.

In Hamilton County there are only two courts that all handle state criminal offense, the Muncipal Court of Hamilton County and the Common Pleas Court of Hamilton County.
