2004-present              Assistant Professor, Structural Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio

·         Teaching of basic engineering and structural-related courses, at graduate and undergraduate level, pertaining to the structural analysis and to the structural design sequences.

·         Co-operation in ongoing research programs (earthquake engineering, RC shear walls, bridge deck optimization, Steel beam-to-column connections, influence of steel fabrication on strength and ductility), in co-operation with other faculty members of the Department, with faculty members of other Universities (Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Minnesota), and international faculty members.

·         Advisor for one Ph.D. student at the University of Trieste, Italy; advisor for two Ph.D., three M.S. students at the University of Cincinnati

·         Faculty advisor for ASCE Concrete Canoe National Competition

·         Developed finite element formulations for conducting transient dynamic seismic analysis of three-dimensional partially-restrained steel frames with reinforced concrete infill walls.

·         Presented graduate seminars about previous and ongoing research.

·         Collaborated in some ongoing analytical and experimental efforts (Y. Hu, steel bridge girders fatigue of welds; J. Moeller, experimental testing of concrete-infilled steel frames; D. Kim, cyclic testing of steel welded beam-to-column moment connections)

·         Taught portions of the course on Concrete Design (including components of Pre-stressed Concrete Design and Steel Design);

·         Presented guest lectures in the course on Bridge Design.

·         Collaborated in various ongoing research projects (dynamic field testing of slender structures and cranes, earthquake engineering, modeling of structures under seismic loads).

1997-2001                  Structural Engineer, Structure SAS, Trieste, Italy.

·         Designed several steel and prestressed concrete structures, including industrial buildings and cranes.

·         Conducted field measurements on response of steel structures.
